During her whirlwind promo tour in the U.K., Nicki Minaj sat down with BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Trevor Nelson for a chat at her swanky hotel.
Once you get past her distracting outfit and the camera panning into her cotton candy-like hairdo, you’ll hear the head Barb speak about the pressure she felt while recording her debut album Pink Friday and how it’s a “blessing” being compared to established artists like Kanye West and Eminem.
“They’re comparing me to people who’ve been out forever. They’re comparing my album to Kanye’s album,” she said. “The sales in the States, we’re neck and neck. And people don’t realize I am a brand new artist. This is my first album. These guys have been around for a long time.”
The DJ gave her a CD with British singer Jessie J’s music as a parting gift. Maybe we’ll get to hear that collaboration after all?
Nicki Minaj’s British invasion continues. After almost getting kicked out of her hotel because of the crowds she attracted, the hip-hop honey had to escape through the back entrance, but the paparazzi and her Barbz were waiting outside hoping to catch a glimpse of the Pink Friday superstar.
The blonde bombshell, looking fetch in an out-of-this-world outfit, spiked bracelet, and gold rope chain, signed as many autographs as she could before being whisked away to host her Pink Party at London’s Oceana nightclub. What will the fashionista wear next? All eyes are on Nicki.
Grand opening, grand closing. The hotel where Nicki Minaj was staying in London wasn’t expecting such a massive turnout when hip-hop royalty came to town. The head Barb got kicked out of the posh Dorchester hotel after she attracted too many fans and paparazzi. But the hip-hop queen made a grand exit, rocking a zebra print bodysuit, black beehive hairdo, and SUPER sunglasses as she left the establishment in style.
“I’ve never gone through this in my life,” an overwhelmed Nicki told DJ Semtex of the pandemonium surrounding her U.K. trip. “I wish I could have this moment for life. This moment right now, being here, is the best thing in the world.”
Just when you thought you’d seen it all, Nicki Minaj continues to command the spotlight during her London trip. The Pink lady switched up her style yet again, stepping out to greet her British Barbz after paying a visit to T4 studios for a TV appearance. The rap diva, who has been pushing her fashion limits with eccentric outfits over the past few days, signed one lucky Barb’s boobs while looking fierce in a white dress and spotted blonde wig.
In an interview with DJ Semtex, Nicki opened up about her friendship with fellow fashionista Rihanna. “She is a dope gal. She’s crazy like me and I don’t think people ever really knew her personality. As I’m getting to know her a little bit, she’s so much fun to be around. She’s sweet, she’s focused, you know all those things that make a bad bitch,” she said. “It was an honor for me to be asked to be on her album. I didn’t see that one coming.”
Nicki Minaj painted the town pink while walking through the streets of London, she rocked a lavender bodysuit, purple hoop earrings and hot pink heels! A Marge Simpson style pink hair-do! Only Nicki can pull this one off.
